The Designated Bunter
At last, a role where Aaron Miles can shine. Of course, it involves making an out, but that's his specialty.

As Bad As It Gets
The worst feeling you can have as a baseball fan?
Bottom of the 9th inning, trailing by three runs, two outs, none on, facing Trevor Hoffman, and you hear the words "it's up to Aaron Miles to keep the game alive".
This is like hearing the sentence "it's up to Dr. Kevorkian to keep you alive".

Miles Gets a Hit!
If it didn't say so right here, I wouldn't believe it. Of course, that's only his second hit (in 27 at bats) since his return from the DL, and it came against Pittsburgh, but let's not piss on his campfire too much.
Speaking of Pittsburgh, much has been made recently about the Pirates suffering through 17 straight sub-.500 seasons. However, if I were a Pirates fan, I'd be even more ashamed that Lou Piniella thinks so little of my team that he'd use Aaron Miles in a game where the Pirates only trailed by three runs.

Andy White Returns!
So this is what it's like to have a real backup shortstop. A double (and a run), a sacrifice bunt, and some good defense.
And this is what Aaron Miles has done - he makes a guy with a .620 OPS look good by comparison.
